Join eating disorder prevention and treatment specialists Juli Hayes-Nadler, RD and Andrea Borgatello, LCSW for a special day with your pre-adolescent daughter to celebrate the changes her body is and will be going through. Both mothers and daughters will learn about how our bodies are each beautifully unique and can not be molded into our cultures “perfect ideal” that our daughters are starting to consider emulating. You will learn about the influences of genetics, metabolism, media and the dangers of dieting. Moms will get a chance to talk about our own body image histories and the concerns we have about our daughters in this culture that idealizes ultra thinness. Together we will learn to celebrate the skin we’re in!
This event will be held at the beautiful Oak Grove School campus in Ojai, California from 9AM-4PM on Saturday, Oct. 25 for moms and daughters ages 9-10 and on Sunday, October 26 for moms and daughters ages 11-12. There will be a potluck lunch where we will learn and practice mindful or “intuitive eating” together. Both days are expected to fill quickly, so be sure to contact me at www.julhaynad@gmail.com or 805-448-8461 for a registration form as soon as possible. The workshop is $165 per mother-daughter pair with a $20 discount for Oak Grove families.
